6:15am start for our routine of jogging Miss Turney, Maisy and I to the salt plain where the baby flamingos live then down to the beach for a quick dip in the sea with a lot of funny coloured crabs!! then back for a luxury breakfast of watermelon, pancakes and porridge!! Delicious also with the choice of a full fry up!! it felt like we were off to school as we bagged our sandwiches and a slice of cake and a bit of fruit bags
Tuk tuks again!! For our journey to niajema they are soooo much fun with the the great bumpy sand paths as we can't exactly call it a road we back paths of smiling children and happy people with not a care in the world.
We arrived at nianjema ready for our 9 to 5 day of first aid, geography and business and enterprise it was amazing to hear how developed the students English was... The school was completely different to the orphanage, it was an interesting
contrast of life
The workshops began, with the ice not yet broken as we sit and try and get a conversion between us! As the day goes on the awkwardness eases to a good lengthy conversation.
After dinner the netball began with a great start with the teaching of the basic rules as they were clueless of the sport we put them into team with a mixture of them and us to just kick start the game! In mid flow we call injury time with a girl with a dislocated elbow brought netball to its feet!! Great ending! NOT
We headed back for a dip in the sea and some chill out time before tea which was yet again a great massive buffet of king fish, squid rings and beef stew delicious with strawberry ice cream for dessert!
Can't wait for another great day at nianjema!
Chloe Verrall and Maisy Ward
